Gunmen Kidnap Timipre Sylva’s Running-Mate’s Mother

Unknown gunmen on Thursday in Bayelsa, kidnapped 100 year-old, Madam Ebifieghe Dikoro, mother of Elder Wilberforce Agiri, the running mate to the APC governorship candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva.

DAILY POST reliably gathered from community sources that the old woman was forcefully abducted at gunpoint early Thursday morning, at her home in Foropa community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Council of the State.

Community sources told newsmen in Yenagoa that the unidentified gunmen, thereafter, took the octogenarian away into the creek, aboard three speed boats.

Road Accident At Otukpa, Benue State

It occurred at Otukpa Branch in Benue state. Along the Otupka – Enugu expressway.

A tanker which probably failed break hit a New Nyanya Hummer bus from behind and the bus in turn rammed into anoda stationary tanker and also a Mazda car parked nearby.

Fortunately, no life was lost. Just minor injuries.
However, This brings to the fore the menace of tanker drivers on our roads and their carefree attitude to road usage.

The University of Ibadan (UI), in partnership with two American universities, on Wednesday, announced the discovery of a permanent cure for the sickle cell disease.

Tribunal Annuls Election Of Saraki Dahiru-Maiyama, Declares PDP Candidate Winner

The National and State Assemblies Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has annulled the election of Saraki Dahiru-Maiyama of All Progressive Congress(APC), representing Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The nullification followed the petition filed by Joseph Kigbu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the victory of Dahiru-Maiyama of APC.

Delivering judgment on Thursday in Lafia, the Chairman of the tribunal, Mr Peter Oboira, declared Kigbu as winner of the March 28 elections.

Teachers Protest In Umuahia Over Unpaid Salaries

Women teachers in large numbers have taken to protest today in Umuahia as a way of showcasing their frustration of lack Salary payment.
