FG Gives Amnesty To 800 Repentant Boko Haram Insurgents

Not less than 800 members of the Boko Haram group are currently undergoing vocational skills training in form of amnesty under the supervision of the office of the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS.

Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Alhaji Sani Sidi who dropped the hint today in Abuja, explained that the programme under which repentant Boko Haram insurgents are being rehabilitated tagged: “Safe Corridor Initiative”, was conceived purposely to provide a leeway for them to turn a new leaf.

Emerging reports suggest that Boko Haram has finally surrendered to the superior power of Nigeria.

A video by the Leadership, shows the kingpin, Abubakar Shekau who was rumoured to have been killed, advising his followers to “surrender to save themselves”.

Shekau in the video below appeared to have surrendered to constant bombardments by the Nigerian army troops.

Nigerian Army Destroys Boko Haram Spiritual Base At Alagarno Forest,Borno.

Nigerian soldiers continued with their offensive clearance operations of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in the North East, today. Troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion of 25 Task Force Brigade, 7 Division Nigerian Army, demystified Boko Haram terrorists spiritual power base at the Alagarno forest, Borno State.

The troops based on tip off, conducted a clearance operation around Alagarno forest general area, destroying terrorists camps at Mosa, Ariwuzumari and Kagalmari, as well as Missene, Joba, Yajiwa and Sansan.

During the operations, the troops were able to clear all the camps, killing quite a number of terrorists and recovered Boko Haram terrorists flags hoisted on some premises, destroyed their logistics base and recovered 31 motorcycles, assorted foodstuffs, a donkey and a pick up van, AK-45 rifle with registration number 17714 and a Dane gun. Nigerian Army Releases 2nd-List Of 100 Wanted Boko Haram Suspects

The Nigerian army has released the names of the 2nd set wanted boko haram suspects. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Burutai, made this known during the induction of a combat motorbike battalion at the Headquarters of 25 Task Force Brigade, Damboa, Borno State on Saturday February 27.

Prior to the induction and launching ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff took time off to see and address troops located at Delwa and Bulabulin before arriving Damboa. He also inspected a Quarter guard at the Brigade’s headquarters.

Out Of Mercy, Suicide Bomber Refuses To Detonate Her Explosive

A would-be suicide bomber who refused to detonate her explosives in northeast Nigeria was identified as she tried to flee because of her distinctive hairstyle, a military officer said on Friday.

The officer, who was at the camp for displaced people in Dikwa, Borno state, when two other women blew themselves up on Tuesday, killing 58, said the third was spotted as she tried to leave.

Soldier Attempts To Rob Filling Station In Abuja (photo)

One of the soldiers fighting Boko Haram insurgents in the North has been arrested for attempting to rob a filling station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The suspect, Abel Solomon (30), said the operation would have fetched him N20 million if it had scaled through.

The robbery operation plan was ruined by the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), led by a Chief Superintendent of Police, Abba Kyari.

The Real Sponsors Of Boko Haram

The Borno Elders Forum yesterday said all the persons being manipulated in the controversial theft of funds meant to purchase arms for soldiers combating insurgency in northeast Nigeria are the real sponsors of Boko Haram.

The group said President Muhammadu Buhari should not waste his time searching for those funding Boko Haram as the arms deal controversy had uncovered those to be punished for all the destruction in the north east.

Nigerian Army Kill Boko Haram Fighters During Battle In Babangida, Yobe

Troops on Friday routed some Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe State.
A security source told DAILY POST that the gun duel took place in a settlement in Babangida area.

The sect members on sighting the troops started shooting sporadically.
The retaliation by soldiers resulted in death of many members of the sect.

Several weapons were recovered after the fighters had been killed.
