JAMB Extends The 2016/2017 Registration |Deadline To January 31

The closing date for the registration of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as announced by JAMB, has been extended till 31st January.

We therefore wish to advise all JAMB candidates who are yet to purchase their 2016 UTME forms to do so on or before January 31st, 2016.

This also extends to candidates who are still waiting for supplementary or additional list of their choice schools for the 2015/2016 admission year to be released.

It is always a bad idea to have all your eggs in one basket. There is no 100% guarantee that your name will appear on the list even if the school eventually releases it.

JAMB 2016 Official English Language Syllabus And Recommended Texts

(1) communicate effectively in both written and spoken English;

(2) have a sound linguistic basis for learning at the tertiary level. The syllabus consists of two sections:

I. Comprehension/Summary

II. Lexis, Structure and Oral Forms
1. Comprehension/Summary

OAU SUG Beat Ife Mini Bus Driver For Alleged Theft

The Union, NURTW (Ife Mini Bus) had on Monday 30th November, 2015 reported the action of the Student Union Government of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife over the massacre of one of its member.

In the report made available to students,” The photograph of the person that you are looking at is a member/driver of the NURTW (Ife Mini Bus). He was alleged that a student forgot his handset in his commercial bus and was asked to stop at their Union Building, ordered him to enter to their office, where they massacred him”.

However, as at the time of filing this report, unconfirmed report has it that the bus driver is dead. Another report revealed that OAU Ile Ife students should keep off campus gate as the drivers (sabo-lagere) are presently at the gate protesting the death of one of them that was beaten.
